“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples” - Mother Teresa

My Journey began on December 22, 2017 and my starting A1C level was 7.1.

I was taking 160 Units of Toujeo (a long acting insulin) and correcting with Humalog as needed.  Within 2 weeks I started Oxygen therapy on 1/2/18 three times a week.  I ate as I normally did with direction on adjustment, but was logging everything whether right or wrong.  I was correcting with Humalog any time my blood sugar went above 200 Mg/dL.  As therapy continued and I started adjusting my diet I saw remarkable changes in my blood sugar readings.  I continued to “log” all meals and drinks along with all blood sugar readings and injections providing my “coach” with the same following their format provided.  After a short period of time I was introduced to “Vitabot” a program to create and record all meals and to view all nutritional aspects of what I was eating.  This “tool” has become a guide to healthier choices and insight into clarification of what is good or bad food values.

Within (2) months of following all advice and direction I had experienced a positive side effect with over a 10-pound weight loss which has been maintained to this day.  It has been six months and I have been educated a little bit every week from nutrition to behavior and have finally realized that every step has been for a reason, it’s been a learning process that must followed carefully.  You must be “programmed” in order to succeed with the product.  You must understand and practice what is learned.  After (5) months of understanding the reasoning behind the practices taught, I stopped taking all long acting insulin and only inject fast acting when my readings are above 200.  I do test my blood sugar several times of day normally at the same time of day.  I eat small meals every (3) hours trying to eat at least (6) meals a day.  I don’t have the cravings for sweets or breads and try to stay away from fried foods.  I haven’t corrected with fast acting in over a month and my readings aren’t perfect but are averaging around 150 with no insulin.  I finally understand and see all the answers to my many questions.  I look at where I was 6 months ago and where my readings were, and I am amazed at the benefits offered from oxygen therapy and nutritional development and look forward to non-diabetic status soon.
